We are grateful to Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Mr. Akhilesh Yadav for giving his precious time for our meeting, after reading an article in India Today edition of 2nd February 2015, about our struggles to protect the historical land of Vedic city Kampilya (Kampil) in district Farrukhabad. He had invited us for discussing on the concerns and aspirations for the birthplace of Draupadi, Kampilya, which is now recognized as a Kasba in Tehsil Kaimganj in Uttar Pradesh.
We drafted a Power point Presentation for the Hon’ble CM of UP to showcasing the rich cultural and historical legacy, worth and potential of this most ancient Vedic city which was the cradle of Vedic learning in ancient India. We also drafted a representation that, we aim to restore Draupadi’s birthplace and its historical heritage and develop it as a tourist destination with the help and Co-Operation of the State Government along with this we submitted a detailed project report for the same matter.
We also aim to focus on restoration of the old ancient temples located in Kampilya and surrounding areas. Along the same lines we proposed them to work towards enhancing skill development and training centers in the area. During the annual Panchala Mahostav we suggested them to promote the culture and trade and many other similar activities that add value to the historical remains in terms of architecture as well as culture to glorify the place to attract tourist. This would also bring about income generation activities and better quality of life for the individuals living there.
